💰 £200 Cost of Living Support – Apply Now!

Deadline: 28 February

East Riding residents struggling with food and household bills are encouraged to apply for a £200 payment from the Household Support Fund. The fund is designed to help those most in need, but the deadline to apply is Friday, 28 February—so don’t miss out!

To qualify, you must:
✅ Be an East Riding resident
✅ Receive housing benefit, the housing element of universal credit, or council tax support
✅ Have been on a means-tested benefit for at least three months
✅ Not be in employment and have less than £1,000 in savings

If you already receive council tax support, your payment will be processed automatically. Otherwise, applications can be made via the East Riding Council website.

Councillor Nigel Wilkinson urged residents to apply, saying:
"It’s vital that families and households that need help apply for this scheme in time. I encourage everyone eligible to apply as soon as possible."

🤱 Breastfeeding in Public Awareness Week

February 24-28

East Riding is celebrating Breastfeeding in Public Day with a week-long campaign to support parents and normalize breastfeeding in public spaces. Events will be held at libraries, cafés, and leisure centres, including Beverley Library (Feb 25, 1:30-3 PM) and Bridlington Library (Feb 26, 10-11 AM).

✈️ Barrhead Travel Expands Apprenticeships

Barrhead Travel is offering 20 new apprenticeships across the UK, including Beverley! The programme provides hands-on training in sales, marketing, HR, and IT, with many securing full-time jobs.
