Beverley residents are growing increasingly frustrated with severe traffic congestion, worsened by ongoing gas works and road projects. 🚦 Councillor Tom Astell has criticised the lack of planning, stating that motorists are being left to “sit in gridlock.” Northern Gas Networks has announced that the road closure at Flemingate will be lifted by Wednesday, but concerns remain over long-term traffic management.

Locals have shared their struggles, with some, like Helena Wilson, opting to walk rather than battle the endless queues. Others, like Alex Dowsey, have had to plan hospital visits around the disruptions. Some councillors are calling for better coordination to prevent unnecessary gridlock.
