Hello and welcome to the very first edition of Beverley Insider – your new weekly guide to everything happening in our beautiful town! 🏰✨ Whether it’s the latest news 📰, upcoming events 🎭, or little nuggets of local life 🍂, we’re here to keep you in the loop every Thursday.

📜 Beverley’s Historic Pasture Masters Election
Beverley’s traditional election for 12 Pasture Masters and two Auditors is scheduled for Saturday, March 1st, 2025, at the Guildhall from 9 AM to 4 PM. This community heritage event follows the Beverley Pasture Act of 1836. Nomination forms must be submitted by February 14th, 2025. Voting papers will only be available on election day at the Guildhall.

🚜 Elon Musk Highlights Beverley Farmers’ Protest
Local farmers protested inheritance tax changes by staging a tractor convoy through Beverley town centre. The protest gained global attention when Elon Musk shared a video on X (formerly Twitter), commenting, "Good for the farmers."

🚌 Buses to Replace Trains Between Beverley and Scarborough
From January 28th to February 3rd, Network Rail will carry out significant repairs at the Skerne Road level crossing in Driffield. Train services will be replaced with buses during this time.

Stephen, a Beverley Asda employee, paid for a customer’s shopping when her purse went missing. He later returned the purse to her home, earning praise as a “true hero.”

🏰 Champney Treasure House Reopens
The Champney Treasure House has reopened after a £3.3 million renovation, offering new features like a sensory room, revamped library, and enhanced gardens. It’s now a hub for community events and cultural exhibitions.
