🎦Laugh, Sing, and Be Amazed: East Riding Theatre Turns Up the Heat 🤣

Summer's heating up in Beverley - and not just the weather. East Riding Theatre (ERT) is pulling out all the stops with a packed programme of plays, live music, laugh-out-loud comedy and family fun, all under the rafters of its stunning converted chapel.

Things kick off in style with John Godber's Do I Love You (29 May - 7 June), a soulful trip through love, loss and the Northern Soul scene. Then on 23 May, it's the Big Beverley Comedy Night, starring Angelos Epithemiou, Jo Enright and the brilliantly daft Jack Gleadow. Expect belly laughs and proper good vibes.

Got little ones in tow? Fairytales, Fables & Other Assorted Nonsense (28 May) promises giggles and magical mayhem for the whole family. Then the much-loved Beverley Folk Festival returns (20 - 22 June), with intimate gigs from Jamie Lawson and Cara Dillon, open mic sessions and hands-on workshops.

July's bursting with live music - from jump-blues legends King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys (4 July) to the rollicking Jon Palmer Acoustic Band (11 July). Theatre lovers, don't miss As You Like It (15 July) or the bold and brilliant musical Assassins (24 - 26 July).

❓Did You Know? 🏒

Did you know this ice hockey legend is from Beverley

That’s right - Davey Phillips, one of British ice hockey’s most respected players, hails from our very own Beverley. He began his journey on local rinks with the Kingston Sharks and Hull Stingrays before skating his way into the big leagues.

Over the years, Davey has played for top UK teams like the Belfast Giants and Sheffield Steelers and spent time with the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League.

On the international stage, he earned 114 caps for Team GB, taking part in 17 World Championship tournaments and helping secure gold in 2017, 2018, and 2023. He officially retired from international play in 2024.

These days, he's back closer to home with the Hull Seahawks in the NIHL - still going strong and making Beverley proud.
