🍽️ Rural businesses showcase East Yorkshire’s food and tourism scene
Over 400 members of the East Yorkshire Local Food & Rural Tourism Network gathered this month at The Manor Rooms on The Drewton Estate for a vibrant spring event highlighting the region’s growing food and tourism sectors. The event marked the launch of the 2025/26 Enjoy Local Food & Drink Guide, a project funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and supported by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s rural policy team.

Attendees included representatives from local farms, hospitality businesses, and visitor attractions, who offered samples and shared ideas on promoting regional food and experiences. Highlights included talks from businesses such as Alpacas at the Field and The Milk Well, as well as a tour of the North Cave Wetlands Nature Reserve.

Speakers from Visit East Yorkshire, NFU Mutual and council departments offered practical advice on marketing, business planning and legal support for rural enterprises. Katie Taylor MBE, chair of the network, praised the event as a celebration of the area’s vibrant rural economy and a valuable opportunity for collaboration.
